AN Evesham woman has successfully ran the London Marathon to remember her mum, who died of pancreatic cancer 10 years ago.
Mum-of-three Becky Griffiths said she was inspired last year to run it, after working out the date of the event was just five days from the anniversary of her mum's death
The 40-year-old said she was "unbelievably proud" to have completed the marathon as she was "not a runner or exercise freak".
Mrs Griffiths said: "The atmosphere was amazing.
"Having seen it on TV before, you can only get a small taste of it. There's people calling out your name out, there's music, it's brilliantly organised. I didn't particularly enjoy the running but I did it and that's the main thing.
Mrs Griffiths said in the past 10 years she has also lost her uncle.
"It has affected my family in a massive way," Mrs Griffiths.
"I am taking part in a trail to see if there is a family link. I want to raise awareness to see see if there is anything that can be done for myself and my children."
Mrs Griffiths raised more than £2,500 for Pancreatic Cancer UK, through the marathon run.
