IT was ‘A Wonderful World’ for the Dormer House Choir, with a glowing commendation from the judges after a competition.

The choir took part in the Kingham Hill School junior choir competition on Friday afternoon.

The school based in Moreton in Marsh, is due to close in July. The Dormer House School Choir is made up of around 15 pupils from years 3-6, and has been busy this past year working alongside Miss Sophie Kearns, their vocal coach, for various school concerts, external competitions and festivals. They received a commended place in the Chipping Norton Music Festival.

The choir who were accompanied by Paul Webber were excited about participating in the 9th Annual Kingham Hill Junior Choir Competition, which invites local prep and primary schools to take part. With a charged performance of ‘Power in Me’, they upped the tempo and built to a crescendo taking 1st Prize for their performance and the Kingham Hill Award for best choir with £450 for the Music department.

Alison Thomas, Headmistress said:“We are so proud.”
