TRAIN services between Redditch and Birmingham appear to be back to normal after the previous delays.

Earlier today West Midlands Railways said due to an 'operational incident' between Birmingham New Street and Redditch fewer trains were able to run on the line towards Longbridge.

As a result train services running to and from these stations were cancelled or delayed.

The company tweeted that road transport has been requested to shuttle between Longbridge, Redditch and Bromsgrove (via all stations).

And passengers are were dvised to use their tickets on the following bus routes on National Express routes 11A, 18, 23, 24, 45, 47, 48, 49, 61, 63, 80, X20, X21, X22.

The lines affected included:

  • Lichfield - Four Oaks - Birmingham: Delays/alterations to be expected
  • Birmingham - Longbridge/Redditch/Bromsgrove: Delays/alterations to be expected
  • Birmingham - Worcester - Hereford: Delays to be expected
  • Birmingham - Walsall via Aston: Unaffected

However, information on West Midlands Railway's website now suggests that all services are running on time.
