The Traveling Wilburys consisted of five of the greatest names in rock music history, and now a tribute group will be keeping the memory and the music alive.
Even better, the Unravelling Wilburys have a date at Worcester’s Huntingdon Hall.
The Traveling Wilburys were George Harrison, Roy Orbison, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan and Jeff Lynne.
The ‘supergroup’ recorded two albums, the first in 1988 and the second in 1990, though Orbison died before the second was recorded.
A spokesman said: “Their project work was the subject of great anticipation given the diverse nature of the singer-songwriters. Their debut album Traveling Wilburys Vol. 1 proved an enduring critical success, winning accolades such as a Grammy for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group.
So, welcome to Thumper, Blind Melon, Sticky Willy, Walter and Javelin, who form the wonderful Unravelling Wilburys!”
