Much Marcle Primary School has hosted the South Herefordshire Partnership’s Ogden Trust Science Fair.
Students developed their own science projects and demonstrations to show to pupils from other local schools.
The key theme was ‘power’, but from a rather unusual source.
The children demonstrated how salt dough can be used as an electric conductor and insulator to power some of the fantastic space-themed objects that they made as their half-term homework project.
The Ogden Trust works with schools to promote the teaching and learning of Physics.
The fair, which took place on Wednesday, June 12, involved demonstrations by children from the five partnership schools of Much Marcle, Walford, The Lea, Gorsley Goffs and St Josephs.
There were also demonstrations from Dr Simon Rhodes and colleagues from the physics department of Hereford Cathedral School, ex-Much Marcle students from John Masefield High School and stalls from local STEM businesses.
The fair, in the school hall, concluded with a fund-raising raffle.
