Twenty-four years of all that jazz in Malvern is set to be celebrated this weekend.

Organisers say it will be a way to celebrate the town’s thriving live music scene and heritage.

After all, it’s some 24 years since local jazzman Len Thwaites started jazz club sessions in Malvern, and for most of that time, Malvern Rugby Club has hosted the music.

Now Jazz@MRFC is celebrating this milestone with a special double-bill concert at the rugby club, in Spring Lane on Sunday evening June 16.

A spokesman said: “First on will be a capella singers Men in General, who combine fabulous harmonies with wicked humour.

“The second half will showcase Sliphorn Summit, the eight-piece swing band featuring four trombones in a Basie, Ellington, Miller groove.

“Malvern is blessed with many opportunities to hear live music of the best quality, and Jazz is among them.

Music starts at 7.30pm prompt and admission is limited as tickets have been selling well.
