POLICE have released CCTV footage of a man they wish to speak as a murder investigation into the death of a pensioner continues.

Desmond Wooding, who was 80 and lived alone, was found stabbed at his home in Vines Lane, Droitwich at 8.20am on Monday, June 24.

Earlier this week police released a CCTV image of a man seen in the area at the time walking a dog, with an appeal for anyone who recognises him to get in touch.

And now officers have now released the video to help find him.

At a media briefing yesterday Superintendent Damian Pettit said: “His activity has been described as suspicious.

"For this reason he is of importance.”

On the death of Mr Wooding, Supt Pettit said: "This is an 80-year-old man, who has survived eight decades of life in peaceful harmony, who has been brutally attacked in his home where he should feel safest.

“Speaking as a Droitwich resident – and I have a lot of interaction with the community – it is a complete surprise and a complete shock to residents.

“We really want to hear from people to piece together his last moments.”

Anyone who can help identify the man, or has any information on the crime, can call police on 101 quoting incident 94s of June 24.
