A BODY has been found in the search for a missing 18-year-old man.

Police and fire officials recovered the body in the River Severn in Draycott near Kempsey, just south of Worcester, today (Monday) at 10.40am but formal identification has not yet been carried out.

A search was launched after a young male was spotted going into the river off Sabrina Bridge in the early hours of Saturday.

A CCTV image was released and the man was named as Alessandro Frumenzi by friends.

According to Mr Frumenzi's Facebook profile he is from Leverkusen but living in Worcester, having begun studying at Heart of Worcestershire College in the autumn 2018 term.

A spokesman for HoW college said: "We will continue to offer support to fellow students and staff during this difficult time and would like to express our deepest sympathies to those affected by the incident."
