ARGOS has issued product recalls over concerns the two products in question could cause fires.

The recalls concern Whirlpool tumble dryers and Bush double ovens.

The tumble dryers are being recalled as part of a wider investigation by Whirlpool into all tumble dryers sold in the UK under the following brands: Hotpoint, Indesit, Creda, Swan and Proline between April 2004 and September 2015.

Any tumble dryers manufactured after this date are not subject to the recall.

If the dryer is left unmodified, in some rare cases, excess fluff can come into contact with the heating element and present a fire risk, and so the firm has been sending out engineers to modify the faulty parts.

Whirlpool is now carrying out a Product Recall on any tumble dryers that remain unmodified.

If you think you have a tumble dryer that could be impacted by the product recall, do not use the appliance, switch it off and unplug it if it is safe to do so.

The Bush double ovens are being recalled due to incorrect instructions in user manuals.

Page 15 of the instruction manual advises customers on how to connect the cable for the oven.

If the connector block is wired incorrectly, there is a risk of overheating which, in extreme circumstances, could lead to a fire.

In addition, if the temperature within the oven exceeds the tempered glass limit, there is a risk that the glass could crack.

Anyone with one of these ovens should not use it until the installation has been tested by a qualified engineer.

To arrange for an engineer, call 0800 Repair to arrange for an engineer to check the connection of the oven.
