A STOURPORT pub has something to celebrate this summer after receiving a top award.
The Black Star, on Mitton Street, has been named as Wyre Forest CAMRA's Pub of the Summer 2019.
Each season, members of the Wyre Forest branch of CAMRA vote for their favourite pub.
Presenting the award certificate, branch chair Nick Yarwood said: “The garden terrace of the Black Star in Stourport is a sunny place to watch narrowboats chugging by on the Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal below, enjoy a meal, one of many Wye Valley beers, a guest beer or maybe a traditional cider.
"It was the perfect spot for owners Maria and Andy Gooding to be presented with the Wyre Forest CAMRA Pub of the Summer Award on a hot Sunday afternoon in July.
"The terrace was busy with visitors enjoying the pub’s weekend gin festival as well as their excellent beers.”
