Many readers will have fond childhood memories of when they saw their first football, rugby or cricket match.

With that in mind, this week for a regular Readers Recommends section we asked readers on social media where their favourite venues are to catch local sport.

Nigel Bradford said: “Sixways for rugby, New Road for cricket.”

Daniel Turner said: “University for the basket ball, Pitchcroft for the horse racing.”

Melvin Jones simply wrote: “Sixways.”

Mark Garness joked: “Best venues for watching live sport - The Exchange, the Pheasant.

“Oh and If I wanted to watch a football match, unfortunately I can’t as the council won’t build a football stadium.”

Mark Joby Paintin said: “St George’s Lane, all the memories.”

And Angela Leaver also joked: "Ravenmeadow Golf Club shows all live sports in our Clubhouse during our opening hours."

Simon Sid Walters said the two main venues the city has to offer were for rugby and cricket.

Meanwhile Richie Jones simply posted a link to Worcester RFC's website - which plays its matches at Westons Fields in Hindlip.
