EVESHAM & District Music Club’s 71st concert season starts in earnest next month with a world premiere performance of a piece written by pianist and composer, Marcel Zidani.

Each season consists of six concerts and this year the venues vary between the Arts Centre and All Saints Church in the centre of Evesham. 

Tickets are available on an individual basis at £17 or £5 for students under 18’s, but there is a 30 per cent saving to be made by becoming a member for the season at a cost of £72 for adults, (£10 for students under 18). Details are available on Evesham-music-club.co.uk.

Duo Karadys, featuring concert pianist Marcel Zidani and viola player Carol Hubel-Allen, along with Michael Bochmann, MBE on violin, start the 71st season of live classical music in the Vale. 

On Saturday, September 21, starting at 7.30pm at Evesham Arts Centre they will be playing Marcel Zidani’s world premiere of a piece written especially for the club entitled “Cancion y Danza “ along with Elegie for Rachmaninov for violin, viola and piano, plus Brahms F Minor Sonata for piano and violin, a solo violin Chaconne written by Bach plus Schimmels’ Tango for Piano.

On Friday, October 25, at Evesham Arts Centre a leading award winning pianist from Lithuania  Ugnius Pauliukonis plays popular pieces by Haydn, Chopin and Debussy.

On Friday, November 22 from 7.30pm at All Saints Church the winners of St Martin’s Chamber Music Competition, The Barbican Quartet, bring their string instruments to entertain us with music composed in 18th & 19th Century by Austrian Haydn, and from Czech composer Janacek and from Germany, Felix Mendelssohn 2020 concerts start on Thursday, February 13, at All Saints Church, Evesham with Kristiana Ignatjeva, cellist, with Kumi Matsuo on piano, playing Beethoven and Brahms and introducing us to Russian composers rarely performed locally – Myaskovsky, Arensky and Piatigorsky’s variations on a Paganini Theme. Should be an exciting evening.

On March 25, at Evesham Arts Centre Trio Volant bring their programme called “A French Fancy”  to provide an evening of woodwind (oboe, clarinet and bassoon) pieces including Canteloube, Francaix and Mozart. The season ends with an organ recital by Christopher Allsop in All Saints Church on Friday, April 24, details to be confirmed.

All concerts are performed by acclaimed professional and international musicians selected to offer a wide range of composers, musical instrument combinations and music from different periods, something old, something new and something for everyone.
