Dr Harcup will present ‘Edward Elgar’s Edwardian Era’ - an in-depth look at the decade when Elgar was extremely popular and a friend of King Edward VII.

The talk will be complemented by a musical performance from soprano Linda Tolchard, pianist Tim Sidford and baritone Malcolm Macleod in the Carice room at The Firs: Elgar’s Birthplace, Lower Broadheath, Worcester from 1pm to 3pm.

“We first met John before we opened under the National Trust’s five year stewardship and agreed how wonderful it would be for him to be be one of our key speakers entertaining and informing audiences at The Firs’ says Kirsty Bothma, visitor experience manager, ‘Two years later we are delighted to see him joined by Linda, Tim and Malcolm and we know it will be a very special performance.’

Tickets are £10 and booking is essential by contacting Kirsty Bothma through email at kirsty.bothma@nationaltrust.org.uk or phone on 01905 333 330.
