A CHICKEN factory employee who stalked his ex-girlfriend has been banned from contacting her.

Edgars Talcis, of Millbrook Street, Hereford, admitted his behaviour between July and September had caused serious alarm and distress when he appeared at Hereford Magistrates Court.

Nicola Ritchie, prosecuting, said the incidents took place after 26-year-old Talcis’ girlfriend of four years, Urszula Roszkowska ended their relationship.

But despite being asked to stop, Talcis continued to visit Ms Roszkowska’s home, waited for her on her routes to work and her child’s school, and made threats.

He also began leaving gifts at her property, and sent her “weird and desperate” messages.

Miss Roszkowska reported Talcis to the police, and he was arrested after an officer spotted him outside her house.

In his own defence, Talcis said the gifts were given when they were on speaking terms.

But he became insecure and decided to look through her windows after Miss Roszkowska went out with friends in July.

He saw his ex-girlfriend talking to a man and although she said she was not looking for a new relationship, he did not believe her.

Magistrates told Talcis that his behaviour had frightened his victim, and was unacceptable.

He was handed a 12-month community order, a two-year restraining order, and 20 rehabilitation activity days. He was fined £200 and must pay £185 costs and a £90 victim surcharge.
