SIR – Perdiswell Park is already a community asset, an open space to be enjoyed and one recognised by Worcester City Council.
Worcester’s population in 2018 was around 103,000. The supporters’ club on its website hopes to reach a possible attendance of 600 on a match day, if it builds a new stadium. That represents 0.0058 per cent of the city’s population. What about the other 99 per cent?
They could be caught up in the traffic chaos that will undoubtedly arise along Bilford Road as they try to recycle or go to the leisure centre, or just go about their business.
After all, the planned 82 parking places for 600 supporters, plus two teams and management will hardly be adequate.City councillors, whatever political persuasion, should think of the many and not the few.
