A MALVERN beauty salon has raised more than £1,000 for the fight against ovarian cancer.
The fundraising campaign for Target Ovarian Cancer was launched by Belle Beauty, in Worcester Road, Link Top, to mark a decade in business.
The charity was chosen by the team in memory of receptionist Jackie Munrowd’s mother, who died last year from the disease.
Jackie promised her mum she would raise awareness of the killer disease and its symptoms, so she and salon owner and founder Lucy Watkins, decided to raise £1,000.
And to their delight, they have now exceeded the target, with £1129.70 collected.
Lucy Watkins said; “As a team we wanted to celebrate this milestone, and we thought what better way than giving back to a cause very important to our colleague Jackie.
“The support has been fantastic, and we’re proud to support the cause and raise some awareness."
