A RESIDENT whose complaint about fly tipping spurred Malvern Hills District Council into taking action says he is pleased the issue has been raised.

Mario Eastham, of Eversley Close, off Pickersleigh Road, Malvern, complained after bin men did not pick up the bags, which were left alongside wheelie bins, on Wednesday, October 2.

But the bags were not cleared up until the following Tuesday, and one of Mr Eastham's neighbours saw rats among them.

The council says its policy is not to pick up bin bags now that wheelie bins are used for refuse.

Mr Eastham said: "Now that it's out in the open, I hope the people who are putting these bags out will realise they shouldn't be doing it, and stop."
