VEGANS in Kidderminster will soon be the first to try new sweet treats being trialled in Aldi stores across the West Midlands.

New vegan fruit gums which come in three flavours, including Walter the Worm, Wendy the Worm and Leo the Lion, will be available at selected Aldi stores across Worcestershire from Thursday November 14.

Each product is gelatine free and includes a variety of different fruit juice extracts.

Walter and Wendy have a mix of flavours including apple, blackcurrant, cherry, and raspberry, with Wendy the Worm having a twist of a sour-tastic spin.

Leo the Lion sweets include flavours of orange, apricot, pineapple, passion fruit, lemon, peach, grape and pear.

All three products are available in a 170g bag for just 85p.

A growing number of UK consumers are adopting a plant-based diet or looking to cut down on their animal product consumption.

As a result, veganism, vegetarianism and flexitarianism has become one of the biggest food trends in the UK that continue to drive industry innovation, and the introduction of this new range enables Aldi to offer even more options to its shoppers.

These vegan treats are available in over 60 stores across the West Midlands for a limited time only, but if they prove popular, they could be seen in all Aldi stores up and down the country.
