A SUPER charity shop will be coming to Redditch.

National healthcare charity Sue Ryder will open its first ever store in the town this Wednesday, November 20.

The new store in the Trafford Retail Park boasts 3,200 square feet selling second-hand furniture, home appliances, and clothing at bargain prices, and will be open seven days a week.

Sue Ryder staff and volunteers will officially open the store by cutting the ribbon at 10.30am on Wednesday and be on hand to guide shoppers round the huge new store and talk about volunteering opportunities.

The new superstore is one of a phase of stores recently introduced by Sue Ryder and joins more than 450 high street shops across the UK that support the charity’s care for people facing a terminal illness, a complex neurological condition or the loss of a loved one.

Brian Murdoch, Sue Ryder Redditch superstore manager, said: ‘‘We’re really looking forward to welcoming the public to Redditch’s very first Sue Ryder store.

“The store is one of our new line of superstores, combining the choice of a larger, out of own superstore with the low prices you would expect from a more traditional high street charity shop.

"Expect an array of second-hand clothing, accessories and shoes, alongside a choice of Sue Ryder’s range of new furniture and homewares.

“Shopping with Sue Ryder is a win-win; not only do you get a bargain, you also support the charity’s palliative, neurological and bereavement care and save items from going to landfill."

He added: "The new store brings plenty of volunteering opportunities, so if you’re interested in getting involved, pop in to visit us in the Trafford Retail Park for an informal chat. No experience is necessary as training is provided, and volunteering is a great way to meet people, learn new skills and could even lead to a new qualification.

‘‘Donations can be dropped off at the store and items of furniture can be picked up from your home for free when you fill out the form at sueryder.org/furniture.’’

The new Sue Ryder Redditch superstore is located at Unit 1 Trafford Retail Park.
