COULD you be the 200th Father Christmas to sign up to this year’s Primrose Hospice Santa Fun Run?

Already, more than 170 people have signed up to take part in the fun festive event at Arrow Valley Lake in Redditch on Sunday, December 1.

And the fundraising team at Primrose Hospice hope that people in north east Worcestershire will help them reach the 200 Santas milestone by the start of next week.

Sarah Harris, community fundraiser, said: “We are so close to reaching our milestone of having 200 Santas signed up it would be an early Christmas present to reach it this weekend.

“Last year’s Santa Fun Run was an amazing event with lots of people enjoying dressing up as Mr or Mrs Claus and getting into the festive spirit.

“You don’t have to run the course – you can walk, jog or do a mixture of both – just as long as you have lots of fun on the way around.

“Santa Fun Run is the perfect event to take part in with your friends and family.

“You can join in with your young children in pushchairs and also your four-legged friends on leads who are more than welcome to join in as well.”

There are three courses people can take part in, a 10k, 5k and a 1k route which is ideal for children.

Santa Fun Run has been kindly supported by Co-operative Funeralcare and Redditch STARS.

Registration begins at 10am with a warm up starting at 10.15am, followed by the start of the 1km Santa Dash.

It costs £15 for adults to enter the 5k and £20 to enter the 10k, £5 for the 1k, and under 2s go free.

To sign up, log on to https://primrosehospice.org/events/santa-fun-run-2 or for more information call 01527 871051.

All adults will receive their very own Santa suit to wear throughout the event and all children (and dogs!) are fully encouraged to don their favourite Christmas fancy dress outfits.

Everyone who completes either of the fun runs will receive a special medal.

There will be refreshments and food available throughout the whole event plus performances from The Rock Choir, Bromsgrove Rock School and Meg Scane.

The Santa Fun Run will also be welcoming a very special VIP again this year - Father Christmas.
