CRAFT stalls, food, carol singers, stilt-walkers, magicians and more are all on offer as the Friends of St John's Christmas Market returns to Bromsgrove for its fifth year this weekend.

The market runs from 9am-4pm today (Friday) and from 10am-6.30pm tomorrow (Saturday) outside the Slug & Lettuce pub and the newly-opened Old Post Office Inn.

In addition to a host of stalls, there will be children's rides as well as a full day of entertainment on Saturday.

At the New Road end of town, close to the main Christmas Lights switch on there will be more Christmas traders selling locally made goods alongside the regular Bromsgrove market traders.

The switch on event takes place outside the Golden Cross Hotel - the fun starts at 3.30pm on Saturday and the lights go on at 5.30pm.

There will be several singers taking to the stage from 1pm onwards on Saturday, plus magician Luke Baker, who will be walking around doing tricks from 11.30am-2pm.

Car parking is free in Bromsgrove all day on Friday.

All money raised from the event is used to support the ongoing maintenance and restoration needs of the historic St John's Church building.
