A PONY was found dead with its legs tied together on a country lane in Arley.
A photograph showing the animal's legs, which were bound by blue rope, was posted on Facebook yesterday (Tuesday).
The pony was reportedly found "dumped" on top of conifer branches off Lion Lane.
Aimee Rees posted on Facebook: "A dead pony has been found on Lion Lane in Arley, obviously been dumped as lay on top of conifer branches and its legs tied."
The post goes on to say: "Highways are on the way to collect.
"It’s obviously an abuse case that someone is going to get away with.
"Absolutely fuming that people have these animals, don’t look after them and them dump them like rubbish.
"Who else can I contact to help try and find the people who did this?
"She is around one/two years old I’d guess."
The RSPCA is now investigating the pony's death and is encouraging anyone with information to come forward.
A spokesman said: "We are aware a dead pony has been found in Lion Lane, Arley, and will be looking into the circumstances of this. At this stage it is not clear how the pony died or if it died of natural causes.
“Anyone with information about this incident can call the RSPCA Appeals line on 0300 123 8018.”
