Classic Hollywood films are coming to The Artrix in Bromsgrove, this month.

They might not have a festive theme, but each one will help to bring a little stardust to the Christmas season.

Artrix cinema audiences can enjoy a season "celebrating the joyful, emotional, shared experience of watching classic film musicals on the big screen".

The spokesman added: "Beginning on Friday December 13 at 11am with the legendary romantic musical comedy Singin’ In The Rain (U), experience Gene Kelly at his quicksilver best, dancing with exquisite skill alongside the late Debbie Reynolds in her most effervescent screen role, Singin’ In The Rain on the big screen at Artrix is a must see".

Next up, Artrix cinema is showing Guys and Dolls (U) on Tuesday December 17 at 11am.

The spokesman said: "Based on the popular 1950 Broadway play, the film is joyously entertaining Guys and Dolls stars Frank Sinatra, Jean Simmons and Marlon Brando (in his only musical role).

"It's a a wonderful chance to see songs including Luck Be A Lady and Sit Down You’re Rockin’ The Boat on the big screen."

And what better way to enjoy the gap between Christmas and New Year than to watch a Sing-a-long screening of the Doris Day classic Calamity Jane (U) at Artrix cinema on Saturday December 28 at 7.30pm.

The spokesman said: "Dust off your Stetson, polish those cowboy boots and sing along with the luminous Doris Day in Calamity Jane, one of her best-loved films and a genuine cult classic.

"This movie features the anthemic song The Black Hills Of Dakota and the Oscar Award-winning ballad Secret Love. Whip-crack-away!

"Grab a ticket to see these classic musical films from a bygone era, brought to glorious new life in a dazzling digital restoration of the Technicolor originals."

Tickets for each of these films are £8 each or £6 for concessions.
