A BROMSGROVE criminal with a record of offending has been jailed for assaulting a man.

Jake Woodfield, aged 24, from Austin Road, was sent to prison for 26 weeks after he was found guilty by Worcestershire magistrates of the assault, which took place in May.

Woodfield, who denied the offences, was also made the subject of a restraining order preventing him from contacting his victim and a further order preventing him from contacting a woman also involved in the case.

He was also instructed to pay a £115 victim surcharge.

Hubert Locke, aged 41, was jailed for a total of 22 weeks after he failed to comply with the terms of a violent offender order.

Homeless Locke, who had previously given the court an address in Wych Road, Droitwich, was made the subject of the order after previous convictions which included driving a stolen vehicle involved in an accident, failing to comply with a violent offender order and ignoring an order banning him from entering a specified area of Worcester.

Magistrates revoked a community order imposed for the previous offences and jailed Locke for 18 weeks and a further four weeks for his latest offence.

He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £122.

Brett Dunn, aged 30, of Winslow Avenue, Droitwich, was fined £440 and ordered to pay £10.20 compensation, costs of £160 and a £44 victim surcharge for travelling of a train without paying a fare.

Jade Kavanagh, aged 25, from Henley Drive, Droitwich, was fined £440 and ordered to pay £3.30 compensation, costs of £160 and a £44 victim surcharge for travelling of a train without paying a fare.

Morgan Taylor, aged 18, from Chestnut Drive, Hagley, was banned from driving for six months, fined £120 and ordered to pay £60 costs and a £30 victim surcharge. Taylor had pleaded guilty to driving without an appropriate licence or insurance, driving without due care and attention, failing to stop after colliding with a street light and failing to report an accident.

Shannon Ireson, aged 22, from Wildmoor Lane, Catshill, was banned from driving for 22 months, fined £166 and ordered to pay £135 costs plus a £32 victim surcharge.

Ireson had pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol in her breath.

Barry McGee, aged 25, from Ombersley Street, Droitwich, was fined £40, ordered to pay £50 costs and a £32 victim surcharge after he admitted stealing a drill worth £90 from B&Q.

McGee had previously been sentenced to nine weeks in prison suspended for 18 months for shoplifting and following the latest conviction magistrates extended the operational period of the suspended sentence to 24 months.

Jack Rawlings, aged 20, Showell Green, Droitwich, was fined £35 and ordered to pay £135 costs and a £32 victim surcharge after he admitted being drunk and disorderly in a public place.
