WORCESTERSHIRE men's barbershop chorus, Vale Harmony, is teaming up with the 10-time UK Champions Great Western Chorus to sing in Pershore Abbey for a third time.

They'll be putting on a charity concert in April to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK.

The two choruses have sung together twice before to full houses at the abbey.

This year's concert is called the Spring Sing. The 45-strong Great Western Chorus from Bristol will be giving its first public performance of the songs which it hopes will bring them an 11th gold medal at the UK national convention of the British Association of Barbershop Singers in Harrogate in May.

John Franks, chairman of Vale Harmony, said: "We're delighted that we'll be singing alongside the Great Western Chorus again.

"They are a big, brilliantly choreographed chorus and Vale Harmony is a small but beautifully sweet group of male voices.

"Together we'll be providing an entertaining bonanza of barbershop singing as well as singing some popular general songs. We're delighted to be supporting Prostate Cancer UK."

Tickets will be on sale in March from the BLUE shop in Pershore and via the Vale Harmony website at vale.harmonysite.com
