DEVELOPERS want to build 10 homes in a village near Leominster.

Jason Richards submitted plans to Herefordshire Council to build on a a two-acre parcel of land off Lugg Green road in Kingsland, to the north of Boarsfield.

The proposals are for five four-bed homes, three three-beds and two two-bed properties.

Architects working on the scheme say the buildings have been designed to carefully respond to the scale and character of the rural area.

But at least five local residents have objected to the plans.

Objector Lindsey Riley said another housing estate in Kingsland was unnecessary.

“The requirement for new housing as set out in the neighbourhood plan has already been met and exceeded.

“The village infrastructure is insufficient to support any further new developments – this includes mains drainage and sewerage.

“The school is already oversubscribed as is the GP surgery.”

Residents have until February 27 to comment on the scheme which Herefordshire Council planners are expected to consider by April 28.
