HERE are some of the recent cases heard at Worcester Magistrates Court.

On February 6 Ashley Dolphin was convicted of driving a Seat Arosa on the A441 otherwise than in accordance with his licence.

The offence took place on July 19 last year, the court heard. Dolphin, 21, of Broadmeadow, Droitwich, was fined £220, told to pay a victim surcharge of £32, costs of £85, and was given three points on his licence. He was ordered to pay the total, £337, by March 5.

Richard Coxon pleaded guilty to speeding on the M5, between Junction 7 and 8 near Worcester.

Coxon, 45, of Radford Road, Leamington Spa, was caught driving at a speed above 70 mph on July 17 last year.

Coxon was fined £427, and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £43, costs of £85 and was given three points on his licence. The total, £554, is to be paid by March 5.

Ashley Evans, of Orchid Court, Malvern, was convicted of using a pedal cycle in motion at a time between sunset and sunrise when the front and rear position lamps required to be fitted, were not kept lit and unobscured. The offence took place on July 21.

The 22-year-old was fined £220, and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £32 and costs of £85. Evans was told to pay the total, £337, by March 5.

Craig Farney, of Pins Green, Worcester Road, Malvern, was convicted of driving a Vauxhall vehicle on a restricted road - Tybridge Street Worcester towards the river - at a speed exceeding 30mph. The 35-year-old was given three penalty points on his licence, fined £220, and told to pay a victim surcharge of £32 and costs of £85. Farney was told to pay the total, £377, by March 5.

And William George, of Portland Street, Worcester, pleaded guilty to driving at a speed above 50mph in a restricted zone on the M5.

The 31-year-old was fined £330, and told to pay a victim surcharge of £33 and costs of £85. He was also given six penalty points on his licence.
