WORKS to improve a busy Hereford street are due to start next week, with temporary traffic lights set to be installed for the duration of the work.

Herefordshire Council said the works to widen Westfaling Street between the junctions for Stanhope Street and Ryelands Street will start on Monday, February 17 and run until Friday, March 13.

Traffic signals will be in place while the works are ongoing, and parking will be temporarily suspended between Ryelands Street and Stanhope Street to ensure a safe working zone and enable traffic to move safely along Westfaling Street.

A Herefordshire Council spokesperson said: "We appreciate that this is a busy route and apologise for any inconvenience these works may cause.

"You may wish to allow extra time for journeys or use alternative routes. We do try to keep all disruption to a minimum and thank you in advance for your patience."
