MOTORISTS can breath a sigh of relief in Hereford today as the Old Wye Bridge reopens.
Herefordshire Council has reopened the Old Bridge and Bridge Street in Hereford city after an inspection deemed it safe.

The historic bridge was closed to vehicles and pedestrians at the weekend as a precautionary measure, after flood levels on the River Wye in Hereford reached record heights.
The peak of 6.11m on Monday was the highest level ever recorded at the Old Bridge gauge.
