THE Bewdley Bridge is now open to pedestrians and cyclists days after closing due to severe flooding.

The River Severn at Bewdley is falling slowly after homes were evacuated in preparation for flooding. The road is still closed to vehicles.

Levels have dropped by 3cm since peaking at around 3am yesterday morning (Wednesday, February 19), but flood warnings remain in place.

Wyre Forest District Council said in a tweet: "We're continuing to work closely with emergency services and other agencies to support residents affected by flooding.

"Flood warnings are still in place although risks have reduced significantly."

A free link bus service will continue in Bewdley due to the River bridge being closed for vehicles.

Kidderminster Shuttle: Vintage bus company Wyvern Omnibus are offering rides from the Black Boy public house near Beales Corner down the Kidderminster Road, around the bypass and into Bewdley Town Centre.
