Get ready for Feast of Fiddles at The Roses Theatre in Tewkesbury.

But what can an audience expect, apart from - well, a great deal of fiddling?

A spokesman said: “This is a group of friends that puts on a show of huge dynamic range performed with passion, joy and a liberal dose of fun. Fiddlers Peter Knight (Gigspanner, Steeleye Span), Chris Leslie (Fairport Convention), Brian McNeill (Battlefield Band), Ian Cutler (Bully Wee), Tom Leary (Joe Brown Band) and Garry Blakeley (Band of Two) add the large range of fiddle playing styles to the back-line of guitars, keyboards, sax and accordion – all held together by legendary drummer Dave Mattacks.

“The show features all the individuals in a wide range of ensemble pieces – instrumental and vocal: a live music entertainment like no other on the circuit which is guaranteed to be enjoyed by even the most doubting of friends dragged along!”

So now we know.

And it’s a fact, Feast of Fiddles certainly has huge fans.

They are “Britain’s fiddling supergroup”, according to Mark Radcliffe, of BBC Radio 2, and another critic said the band included “the best fiddle players of a generation”.

The spokesman added: “Feast of Fiddles is a musical extravaganza...

...covering almost every genre and involving quite a few fiddles! It’s not just folk, it’s not just fiddles it’s an entertainment. Twenty six years and still going strong and every friend and guest dragged along an immediate convert. If you love live music, come to the feast – you won’t be disappointed!”
