DRIVERS are being urged to avoid the A38 Lydiate Ash Island after a serious crash.

There was no access to M5 J4 from the A38 Northbound due to a collision earlier this morning.

The A38 is now open Northbound (towards M5 J4) but remains closed Southbound.

Police are urging drivers to find a different route.

Traffic heading towards Birmingham and M5 J4 should consider using A491 Sandy Lane expecting long delays.

West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed they were called at 7.14am to reports of a collision involving a lorry.

Two ambulances and a paramedic officer attended.

One patient was given treatment on scene but did not require hospital treatment.
