THEY’RE on the front line in the fight against a pandemic.

Staff in our National Health Service are working hard to keep us safe and treat those among our loved ones who have been stricken by Covid-19.

We salute their selfless efforts. But we want more than just a gesture. That is why we have joined newspapers around the country in launching our Guardian Angels #ThankYouNHS fund.

It invites readers to contribute what they can to NHS Charities Together and its Covid-19 appeal.

Donations will be used for gifts for staff, food deliveries and refreshments, covering the cost of travel and accommodation, and other items which enhance the wellbeing of NHS staff and volunteers. You can read more about it here.

We hope you will support us and show how much Herefordshire appreciates what these dedicated people are doing for us.

The Hereford Times is also giving all its support to community efforts to help the elderly and vulnerable through the coronavirus lockdown.

Our #HerefordshireTogether campaign highlights commendable efforts and gives them valuable publicity through our huge and trusted network of readerships in print, online and on social media.

The campaign also seeks to establish one overriding message: that we are in this together, and will get through it together.

We know how you are feeling. We are going through these turbulent times with you, both as individual members of staff and as a business facing, like many others, enormous challenges.

Please do not stop buying your local paper. Make it part of your weekly shopping essentials.

We will bring you the information you need to keep you and your family safe, we will keep you connected with your community, we will not let you down.
