A TOTAL of 10 more patients with Covid-19 have died in Worcestershire hospitals, taking the total to 119 so far.

NHS England has announced eight new deaths at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust today.

The trust runs Worcestershire Royal Hospital in Worcester and the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch.

The total number of deaths at the acute trust therefore rose to 111 from 103 the previous day.

The Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust has recorded a total of eight deaths from Covid-19 since the outbreak began.

There were two further deaths recorded today, taking the overall total from six to eight.

Nationally, a further 651 people, who tested positive have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 11,656.

Patients were aged between 20 and 101 years old.

Twenty of the 651 patients (aged between 20 and 101 years old) had no known underlying health condition.

Their families have been informed.
