A CANAL in Stoke Prior has been searched by police looking for the body of a woman missing, suspected murdered.
Zobaidah Salangy, 28, went missing from her home in Charford almost two months ago, on March 29 after telling family she was going for a jog.
Her husband Nezam Salangy, 42, of Talbot Road, has been charged with her murder.
The Advertiser reported last month that police were searching rural areas of Stoke Pound in an attempt to locate her body.
West Mercia Police have now widened that search to portions of the long canal between Tardebigge and Stoke Prior, approximately two miles from Mrs Salangy's home.
Mr Salangy remains in custody after appearing at Worcester Crown Court last month.
Two of his brothers, Mohammed Yasin Salangi, 32, and Mohammed Ramin Salangy, 29, have also appeared in court.
They deny helping him to dispose of Mrs Salangy's body.
They were remanded to stand trial alongside their older brother at the city's crown court on March 16 next year.
