EVESHAM'S Regal Cinema has been lifting spirits in the town by carrying personal messages on its display board.
Eva Moeskops, Regal manager, said: "This is a difficult and uncertain time for many of us. Some people unable to be with loved ones in person or express gratitude to people physically with human contact.
"The Read O Graph messages have become a safe and unique way for anyone to express thanks and love to family, friends and keyworkers."
When the Regal Cinema is open for business, upcoming films or events are displayed on its Read O Graph in Port Street.
When lockdown happened, staff decided to display a joke message stating they were closed due to running out of loo roll, followed by one for Captain Tom.
And then someone had the bright idea to let the public write in with their own messages – due to overwhelming response it quickly became clear that it would be impossible to choose just one message.
Which is why eight weeks later, new messages are still going up.
“We just wanted to do something to make people smile,” said Eva “by writing personal messages on our Read O Graph we hope to bring our already close-knit community together for a bit of fun.”
