AN Upton-on-Severn woman is to have her head shaved to raise money for charity.

Zoe Nixon, aged 32, was inspired to make the gesture by a friend – who will, be carrying out the shave.

Zoe said: "My friend Kate Stenson of Upton Dog Grooming will be shaving my hair. She shaved hers in February 2019 for charity and I've thought of doing the same ever since.

"During lockdown I have thought even more about it and thought, just do it! It's hair, it will grow back!"

Zoe hopes to raise money for the Vale Wildlife Hospital at Beckford and Midlands Air Ambulance.

She said: "The Air Ambulance have always had a place in my heart as my grandparents were in a car accident, 37 years ago, in a rural location, that sadly they didn't survive.

"Had air ambulances been around then, they would have stood a better chance.

"And Vale Wildlife are a wonderful charity who rescue and rehabilitate hundreds of animals every year, from stoats and hedgehogs to foxes and deer."

Zoe's head-shave event will take place on Sunday, July 5.
