TWO new online exhibitions showcasing the work of local students created during lockdown has been launched.

Local graphics and photography student at Evesham College have had their work put on display in two 'Virtual End of Year Exhibitions' on Youtube.

The showreels were unveiled online and feature graphic design, photography, illustration and digital design created by the students of the Level 2, Level 3 and the HND courses.

Lecturers of the graphics and photography courses surprised their Level 2 & Level 3 students with a showreel which presents the best work they have completed throughout the year, while the students on the HND created their own showreel.

Celia Barradell, course manager for the graphics and photography courses at Evesham College, said: “Our students have worked so hard this year, especially during lockdown to produce some incredible work, so we wanted to surprise them with an online Virtual End of Year Exhibition.

“Normally, we would have a large exhibition at Evesham College to celebrate the work of our students, with a private view of their best course work to celebrate before it is opened for the public to come and view.

“Obviously due to the situation with Covid-19, we were unable to hold this exhibition or the private view; but we still wanted to surprise our students with a showcase of the hard work they have put in this year.

“We aimed to watch the launch of the showreels at the same time, so all the students and lecturers could come together to celebrate and see some of the best work they have produced.

“All of our students have a piece of work included in their own slide with an inspiring quote and we were all very proud to be able to celebrate the showreels together.

The Virtual End of Year Exhibitions are available to view online for free and features work created across the year, with some design and photography work made during lockdown.

“Despite not being in the classroom, some impressive work has been created by students; some of whom have made creative studio spaces to continue with their work at home," the course manager added.
