HERE’S a round-up of defendants who appeared in Worcester Magistrates Court on July 17.

Paul Bradley had five points added to his driver’s licence for speeding. Bradley was caught speeding on A4440 Swineheads Way, Whittington on a temporary 30 mile per house speed limit.

The 48-year-old of Upper Battenhall was driving his Land Rover on October 1, 2019 when he was caught. He has been fined £300, has to pay a victim surcharge if £32, court costs of £85 and a collection order has been made.

Kevin Knowles, of Broadmeadow, Droitwich, has been disqualified from driving for 12 months after driving his BMW while using a hand-held mobile. The 36-year-old was caught on May 7 and has been fined £133. His disqualification is due to repeat offending.

Last year, Knowles was caught driving his BMW in Barbourne Road, while the drug Benzoylecgonine was in his system. He pleaded guilty on July 17 and was fined £400, has to pay a victim surcharge of £40 and court costs of £135.

Another man, Jason Bridger, has pleaded not guilty to threatening and using abusive words within the hearing or sight of a person. Bridger, of Canterbury Road, aged 34, appeared in court and denied the accusations from the incident on January 2. The case has been adjourned until September 15.

Ricky Smith, of Colford Close, Droitwich, pleaded guilty to drunk driving. The 31-year-old was driving his Ford Transit in Elizabeth Avenue when he was stopped by police on March 12.

He was breathalysed and blew 104 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

He has been remanded on unconditional bail until September 15.

Marcin Przechowski admitted assaulting a police officer by beating him on April 20.

The 37-year-old of Etonhurst House, Malvern, pleaded guilty on July 17 at Worcester Magistrates Court.

Przechowski pleaded not guilty after failing to provide a sample of blood for a laboratory test in the course of an investigation into whether he had committed an offence.

He failed to provide the blood sample without a reasonable excuse.

He has been remanded on bail until September 18.
