Background - On Wednesday night The Year 10 phoenix football team went away to George Salters Academy to battle it out in their first away match of the year. Mr Belcher and Mr Fitzpatrick led the side on a chilly Wednesday night at Georges.

This season so far for Phoenix - Phoenix have just got back from a successful 6 a side tournament that took place as part of the Sandwell school games where they battled it out to the final. More than 20 sudden death penalties took place but that was not enough for Anas, Aemen and Lukas till Oldbury academy fumbled, and Phoenix took top spot. Coming back from a successful tournament win Phoenix Collegiate had to prove to George Salter why they were the winners that day.

The match - The year 10 phoenix football team were too cold on the day. Asten, Sam and Nihal were the heartbeat of the team. During the first 15 minutes, Nihal bursts through the wing and smacks the ball in the bottom corner of the goal. After conceding a goal from a deflection form their player. Sam during the second half bangs a goal into the bottom left to win us the game 2-1 thanks to the team's passionate communication throughout. Desmond and Asten were casually falling down earning phoenix a bag of fouls to just edge us over George salters on the day. Sam scoring the winning goal easily earning him the man of the match with his star performance.
