HALESOWEN Town Football Club will be rolling back the years this Sunday when legends of the past reunite to mark one of the most memorable occasions in their history.
The class of 1983 will line up again to commemorate the 40th anniversary of their FA Vase Final trip to Wembley.
Halesowen Town took on fellow West Midlands League side VS Rugby exactly 40 years to the day in front of an 18,000 strong crowd on football's most hallowed turf.
Although Halesowen lost out 1-0 courtesy of an Ian Crawley goal, the occasion laid the foundation for a golden era at the Grove.
Consequently, Halesowen returned to Wembley both in 1985 and 86 where they were successful on both occasions.
They went on to beat current League One side Fleetwood Town 3-1 and then London based Southall 3-0.
Legendary twin strikers Lee Joinson and Geoff Moss provided the goals on both occasions.
Sadly, Geoff Moss passed away only recently but many of his teammates remain in the area and are expected to attend.
They will be meeting from 6pm at the James Grove Lounge, which is situated inside the ground when it's hoped as many people as possible will join them.
