DUDLEY Sports have slipped down the West Midlands Premier League table after a 3-1 defeat to Bewdley Town on Saturday.
Last week’s 2-0 victory over AFC Bridgnorth – the team’s first in seven games – had lifted the Hillcrest Avenue side to 15th in the league, but Sports were pushed back a position following the trip to Worcestershire.
It was always going to be a tough game for Sports, who were missing Joe Wilcox and Mark Gore due to injuries, and were heading to face a Ribbesford Meadow outfit looking to stretch their unbeaten run to eight games.
The win moves Bewdley up to fourth.
The difficult tasks don’t let up for Sports who, following a Premier League Cup tie away at second placed Ellesmere Rangers, will host high-flying near neighbours Tividale back in league action on Saturday (3pm kick-off).
