THE much-anticipated middleweight battle between Oldbury's Craig Cunningham and Redditch's Andrew Robinson has been rescheduled.

The exciting fighters were due to go toe-to-toe for the IBO continental middleweight title on the undercard of Frankie Gavin’s bid for the IBO World Welterweight Championship on February 23.

However, headliner Gavin has picked up an ankle injury in training which has forced BCB Promotions to push back the ‘Now Or Never’ show at the Genting Arena, Birmingham, by a month.

Gavin's fight with Bethuel Ushona and Cunningham's clash with Robinson will now take place on Saturday, March 24.

Gavin was sparring over at Paschal Collins' Celtic Warrior Gym in Dublin when the injury came - six rounds into a session with Irish title contender Jay Byrne.

He was splitting his time between the gym, owned by the brother of boxing legend Steve Collins, and the Crumlin Road gym ahead of his showdown in his home city next month.

A spokesman for the Genting Arena in Birmingham confirmed all tickets sold for the fight would still be valid for use.
