OLD Halesonians are set for a top of the table clash this weekend after continuing their great start to the season with their second win in two matches.
Looking to bounce back into the Midlands Premier Division at the first attempt following last season’s relegation, Old Hales are currently making light work of their new league.
After a 41-0 drubbing of Malvern at Wassell Grove last week, Old Hales headed on the road for a taste of Friday Night Lights at Moseley Oak.
And they made no mistake once again, pushing aside the Birmingham club 49-10 to keep them at the top of the table with another bonus point victory.
Being kept off top spot on points difference after last weekend’s fixtures, Old Hales have now taken over from Newbold on Avon as league leaders by eight points.
And it is a clash of the titans this weekend as Old Hales invite Newbold to Wassell Grove on Saturday (3pm kick-off) in a proverbial ’10 pointer’.
The top of the league table could be drastically different come the end of the weekend as the four unbeaten sides all face each other, with third placed Bromsgrove taking on fourth placed Dudley Kingswinford.
