CHAIRMAN Steve Goode feels “110 per cent sure” no financial misconduct will be unearthed during the examination of Worcester City's finances.

Goode became one of four new City directors in August in a change that saw under-fire predecessor Anthony Hampson step down after almost 10 years at the helm.

Fans vented anger over the losses incurred by the homeless club with Hampson estimating in March that City would have around £150,000 left in the bank at the start of this season.

Checks are still ongoing but Goode reports initial signs suggest Hampson’s numbers are accurate.

“We are still looking at the figures but we believe those stated previously are right,” said Goode.

“There is someone looking into it at the moment. Until they come back with the complete run down we cannot say for certain but we are hopeful the numbers quoted some time ago will be correct and I am quite confident they will be.

“I am 110 per cent sure there has never been any fiddling going on at this club. Certain people involved would not be if there had been.

“Once everything has been properly checked we will call an AGM and let people know exactly where the club stands.

“We said when we came in that we would like to have an AGM within two months but we are still sifting through the accounts.

“I would not want to put a date on it but the sooner we have it, the better. What we don’t want to do is say we will hold it after a specific amount of time and then not.”

Supporters will have the chance to ask for the latest on any aspect of the club at tomorrow’s fans’ forum which takes place at the Victoria Ground, Bromsgrove, after City have played Lye Town (3pm).

Members of the board will be joined by manager John Snape from 5pm.

“It was stated when we came in that we would look to hold regular forums,” Goode added.

“We have been in office for just over a month now, a lot has changed and we thought it would be the right time to let supporters know what’s going on.

“We are hoping people will turn up after the Lye game and they can ask as many questions as they want. There will be certain things we cannot say but we should be able to answer the majority.”

Tomorrow also sees City host Emergency Services Day with fire and rescue, police, ambulance, air ambulance, NHS and prison service personnel granted free entry upon production of identification. Children accompanying those with such identification can also watch for free.
