A CONVINCING success over Shawbury United saw Tividale cut the gap to early league leaders Black Country Rangers.

Tivi bagged at 6-0 win at the Beeches last Saturday thanks to doubles from Demetri Brown and Dan Smith as well as strikes from Darragh Bustin and Tyree Clarke.

The result leaves Dale just two points behind Black Country after the pacesetters drew 2-2 at home to Dudley Town.

Boss Dave King said: "We just have to concentrate on what we are doing. I'm really big on that.

"It was a case of job done on Saturday and it also came on the back of an excellent performance against Haughmond on Tuesday night. We were under pressure but the boys did unbelievably well.

"I asked them to do that again against Shawbury and for the first half they certainly did.

"We did really well and then kept a clean sheet."

Tividale will go to third-placed Wolverhampton Casuals on Tuesday night before a trip to fourth-placed Malvern Town this Saturday.

"It's very tough to face both of them in the space of a week," added King.

"We are confident at the moment and playing well but are under no illusion that it's going to be very difficult."

Dale have no injury issues ahead of the games but have lost forward Rio Francis-Mills to Lye Town.
