YOUNG Dudley and Stourbridge Harriers travel to Cheshire for the Inter County XC Race last Saturday.

William Kay, Rhys Lees, Luke Bailey and Cian Wood previously qualified to represent West Midlands. They all put in brilliant performances to help the team to finish in overall third position behind Cumbria and Merseyside despite the horrendous weather conditions.

Sunday saw young runners travel to Perry Park to take part in Race 3 of the Young Athletes Cross Country League.

Under 11 boys -Tyler Kendrick was 62nd and Jonathan Hayes 66th out of 121. U11 girls: Lexie Wood 110th out of 128. U13 boys: Luke Bailey 18th, Rhys Lees 46th and Cian Wood 61st out of 92 runners. U15 girls: Isabelle Plant was 14th out of 78 runners. U17 men: William Kay 8th, Adam Bodin 25th, Harry Walters finished in 31st place.

Runners also competed in local road races. The annual festive Sneyd 10 Mile Pudding Run saw 3 men head over to Bloxwich. Shaun Osborne finished in 7th place in 59:22, Darran Bishop was 34th in 65:31 and Mark Judge finished in a time of 69:23 he was 58th out of 385 finishers.

Elliot Jones chose to compete in Telford 10k, the fast, flat and highly competitive race through Telford Town Park. Jones finished the race in 36:33.
