HALESOWEN super middleweight Lennox Clarke made it a winning ring return in Walsall on Saturday.

Clarke has had a frustrating 2018 but got a much needed win over the experienced Elvis Dube.

Injury and illness has hampered the unbeaten super middleweight’s year but he blew the cobwebs away when taking a shutout 40-36 victory at the Banks's Stadium as part of a packed BCB Promotions card.

The former white collar star looked sharp and in great condition; barely taking a punch from the cautious Dube.

A long-awaited showdown with Darryll Williams could be on the radar in the new year as the big punching 27-year-old sets his sights on the English Title.

Burntwood’s Troi Coleman completed an unbeaten first year in the paid ranks with a slugfest against the seasoned Kevin McCauley. The former kick boxer showed a willingness to take a shot to get his own off and took a deserved 39-37 decision.

Newark’s Chad Sugden continued his good recent form with a fourth round stoppage against dangerous Taha Mirhosseini. Both men traded heavy shots and a cut opened up over the Iranian national's eye early doors.

Sugden, whose fans were in full voice, took control landing several hard body shots outworking and dropping his opponent several times before referee for the evening, Kevin Parker, waived it off in round four.

Exciting prospect Connor Parker also ended 2018 with a perfect record and a Midlands title for the trophy cabinet. The 23 year-old from Swadlincote, looking to stay active, easily out pointed the game Chris Adaway 60-54 showcasing the slick boxing skills that could see him look for national honours in 2019.

West Bromwich’s Tom Stokes bounced back from a pair of defeats in 2017 with a solid 40-36 points win over the always entertaining Lewis Van Poetsch. 'Poochi' as he is affectionately known was taking part in his 99th professional contest and his second against Stokes with the pair squaring off in 2016 with the same result.
