How they rated: Stourbridge 0, Hednesford 3

Wren: Couldn’t do anything about the three goals as he was offered little protection from his defence. Collected well on occasions. 6.

Green: Did okay and showed better distribution in the second half. It was a poor defensive display from the side but the goals came from the other side of the pitch. 5.5.

Brown: Struggled in the first half as Stour failed to deal with Hednesford’s threat in the air. Exposed by Abadaki but improved and looked more comfortable once shifted to centre back in the second half. A fine late strike shaved the upright. 5.

Turton: It was a difficult and frustrating day as Stour’s midfield was crowded out. Had more time on the ball in the second half as Hednesford dropped off. Had one second half effort tipped over by Platt. 5.5.

Williams: He and Carter were given a torrid time in the first half as Dan Glover won vital flick ons and the duo too often let the ball bounce. 5.

Carter: A difficult afternoon for the skipper who was subbed at half time after Stour’s shocking defensive display. Caught in no man’s land as Abadaki was played in, let the ball sail over his head for the second and flat footed for the opener. 4.

Bellis: Another who struggled to have an impact until he started to get on the ball more in the second half when Town were looking to manage their lead. Worked hard but without joy. 5.5.

Grocott: Tough afternoon as he couldn’t get on the ball in dangerous areas and also taken off at the break. 5.

Landell: Another who worked hard but couldn’t find a way to maintain a threat. Saw a low shot saved at the start of the second half. 6.

Finn: Drifted out of the game too often. Picked up the ball on the right but often quickly crowded out or couldn’t find a team-mate. Kept looking for the ball though. 5.

Mills: Stourbridge’s main threat in a poor first half. Carried the ball well and worked Platt with two efforts in the second half. 7.

Subs:

Foster: Pushed up well in the second half and offered Stour better balance on the left. 6.

Taylor: Carried a threat when introduced but another who was kept at bay by Platt as he saw a header tipped onto the bar. 6.

Botfield: Sprayed the ball around neatly and offered a little more forward thinking in possession. 6.

Unused subs: Price, Winwood.
