WORCESTER City exited the FA Youth Cup with a disappointing first qualifying round defeat at Stafford Rangers.

City lost 2-1 after dominating the opening exchanges of both halves and laying siege to their hosts’ goal for the final 15 minutes.

Stafford opened up a two-goal lead midway through the second period before coming under the cosh from the visitors.

City pulled a goal back from the penalty spot after Matty Patrick-Rivers converted but despite their pressure were unable to force an equaliser to take the tie into extra-time.
